UTW

UTW is an engineering company which integrates several technologies to provide high value-added services to its customers, including unmanned aerial vehicles, remote sensing products and local sensors to provide smart added value to their customers services through Big Data and Data Science processing frameworks. Since its establishment, UTW has been committed to the development of its own technology and products as a strategic objective to differentiate itself from its competitors. UTW is currently carring out R&D projects for innovative applications in Precision Agriculture such as the development of a Decision Support System tool called CropSense.

What do you offer?

UTW is applying new technologies in order to achieve that we use remote information detection combining small and large-scale information sources (drones and satellite), agro climatic information system and information from IoT sensors. Techniques for refining the resolution of satellite images through the combined use of drone images applygin algorithms of neural networks and decisions trees. Using different sensors (RGB, Thermal, Multispectral) to generate vegetation indexes. The variability of theses indexes in the crops is the starting point for a precision farming approach. Among the services we offer: water stress evaluation, individualized water and fertilization needs, production indicators such as evolution of productive potential, damage quantification and crop survey.

What are you looking for?

Thanks to Trade Missions, UTW hopes to achieve partnerships with local companies for future R&D project collaborations and/or outsource our services outside Spain. Moreover, such collaborations can make us improve our current services as well as enhance the development of our current application – www.cropsense.es -. This application/technology will be updated and improved thanks to the entry into Connect EO Trade Missions. The possibility of partnerships with local companies will increase the competitiveness of UTW as it will allow us to enter fully into the Latin American market, a booming market for precision agriculture. Additionally, we have extensive experience in typical Mediterranean woody crops such as olives, vines, pistachio, almond and orange trees, many of which are also grown in some regions of Chile. So, complementarily, this outsourcing would allow us to expand our knowledge in other crops typical of the area.
