What is ConnectEO?
Funded by the European Union’s COSME Programme, the ConnectEO project aims to promote access to international markets for European EO companies active in the maritime and agriculture sectors. The project will run from September 2020 to September 2022 but aims to deliver durable impacts beyond its duration.
ConnectEO follows a previously completed Strand 1b project, IDEEO, in which 6 countries were assessed for the potential uptake of European maritime and agriculture EO services. ConnectEO aims to realise the implementation plans developed under that COSME co-funded project and focuses on two target countries: Australia and Chile.
What are our objectives?
In order to meet the expected impacts specified by the Call, ConnectEO has defined three key initiatives that will ensure that the objectives will be achieved:
1 – Creation of a back office: preparation of companies through the provision of supporting information on the target markets
2 – Launch of Trade Missions: facilitating the creation of meaningful personal relationships on which successful partnerships are built.
3 – Development of a Front Office pilot: a dedicated physical presence in Australia to identify business ‘on-the-ground’, with a view to a dedicated sales pipeline in the long term.
What are the expected impacts?
Through the project objectives, we aim to achieve the following impacts:
- Promote access to international markets for European EO companies active in the maritime and agriculture sectors, building on an existing partnership of complimentary European cluster organisations, with a view to developing into more sectors along with European company
- Empower companies to exploit target markets through the provision of market intelligence, links to local networks/stakeholders, and relevant background information
- Facilitate development of strong interpersonal B2B linkages with partners/customers in the target countries
- Raise the profile of European EO service providers in the target markets and maximise the impact of the activities through well-defined communication, dissemination, stakeholder engagement and exploitation strategies
